Having been an architect for over 20 years Karen Dubrovsky is now finding larks in her everyday world focusing her passion for art and design on her own artistic work.

Working primarily in oil paint, printmaking, and colored pencil, her work explores the connections we have with old things and our environment. It’s about the feeling you get when you connect with something. Through the play of objects, patterns and materials she seeks to capture the feeling of charm and delight.

Her subjects tend to revolve around vintage objects and patterns focusing on the feeling of nostalgia. However, her work also includes inspiration from nature, animals and travel.
